From 1 April 2017 the shingles vaccine will be available to patients as soon as they reach the age of 70.  Patients that were eligible for the immunisation in the first four years of the programme (those who were 70 after 1 September 2013) will also remain eligible if not previously vaccinated.

There is also a catch up programme which includes patients as soon as they reach the age of 78.  These patients will remain eligible until their 80th birthday.
